Australia is not a good market for NUH. Our audiology service works in a different way. Pensioners get hearing aids for free. They need to have a pub-HAD that makes a difference when you have lots of noise. That is where you start noticing you have hearing loss. They are not there yet. The last ones I had was not good in noise so I gave them away.
The OTC act is trying to break through the price gauging by the audiologists. That is why John Luna has been given a go to see what they can do in the US. My main concern is that the form factor is not appealing. They need the same or possibly more features in a small "EARgo" form factor and sell at x $ now under the HP banner. Many unknowns John Luna will certainly be busy getting the story right the engineers busy packaging it into a sellable product. I think John comes back to the team with a wish list and a revamping plan for the company. Let us see what happens in the next 6 months.
