If hearing aids are regulated in Aust then the regulations are not working!
I purchased aids from an audiologist and as it turned out this particular person was a school teacher 12 months previous to joining the profession. The consequent follow up service was beyond appalling.
If you can get audio devices that can be personalized by the user then go for it. My hearing aids cost me in excess of $7k and because I live in a remote location it cost me $600 dollars just for airfares to visit my new audiologist for adjustments to the aids.
