Its like any regulated market.
Products that meet and have regulatory approval, the consumer is protected in terms of its efficacy and safety.
Products that have not been approved , you are not protected.
Look at other industries, cars, other medical devices, etc. If you buy an approved product or part from a manufactuer or 3rd party approved supplier, if something goes wrong, you have recourse. If you buy something off ebay from some dodgy supplier that is not from the manufacturer or approved supplier, good luck if something goes wrong.
The fact that some are selling non approved products in a non issue. This happens in so many industries.
