On OP's original topic - I can see announcements regarding change in board and leaders to be a good catalyst for short term positive price action.
Market's already written off the current leadership for their lack of communication and action ahead of bad results, and a lack of insight into what they're doing to turn it around.
Unfortunately a negative label in the market tends to stick far longer than a positive one, even if management has come out with their tail between their legs and a "we'll do better" speech.
I don't believe in holding with the mindset that "my loss is already 40%, what difference will 60% down make" as you're losing "time in the market" in other shares at the same time. Some people hold till zero, but ultimately for me I'd take it as an expensive lesson and move on.
