The South African economy is a total disaster as it steadily heads down the well trodden path of Rhodesia/Zimbabwe.Power costs and power outages in South Africa are a major issue and PGM mining requires a lot of power,inflation is high and they have militant unions .Both the gold mining industry and PGM mining are in decline and no significant new projects have been approved for years .The few projects in North America with production have been gobbled up by South African companies to diversify .Pod is extremely attractive as its in a stable country and is neither Russia or South Africa.
The problem will be building a mine in this high inflation ,high interest rate climate with major supply chain issues .
