    Dear Profit Taker,

    From the company's website:-

    Port
    Utah Point
Atlas was able to export ore through timely access to scarce port capacity at Port Hedland. This was achieved through participation in the development of the Utah Point stockyard and berth. Atlas’ subsequent acquisitions of Aurox resulted in access to additional port capacity that together will deliver Atlas the ability to export up to 15 Mtpa through Utah Point in 2015.

    South West Creek
In 2007, Atlas and a number of other ‘junior’ resource industry parties formed the North West Iron Ore Alliance to lobby for access to port infrastructure. This initiative was rewarded in 2009 with award of 50Mtpa of Port Hedland channel capacity to allow the alliance to develop a stockyard and 2 berth facility in the South West Creek of the inner harbour at Port Hedland. The alliance has subsequently been re-named North West Infrastructure (NWI) and is actively developing the stockyard and berth project. Atlas holds a 63% interest in NWI.

    Rail

Atlas operates its current mines on the basis of road haulage to Port Hedland. For the longer term developments and production beyond 15Mtpa, rail haulage will be preferable due to the scale and distance to port. Access to existing rail in the Pilbara has typically not been historically achievable on commercially acceptable terms.

In April 2012, Atlas announced that it had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with rail operator, QR National Limited, to study the development of an independent rail network in the East Pilbara to transport ore to Port Hedland. The study is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.
