I was going to mention MLM as well - I'm still a holder there too. That was done at least in part by some hotcopper people, so @Drambuie is you're interested in talking to them about how they did it, I can find their handles? It was a similar situation - management wanted to buy some crappy mine in the Solomon's that would have resulted in dilution & downside for existing holders, despite the fact the company already had good prospects they were wasting.
