It’s confusing for people to trust the science when the top medical official in the United States Dr Fauci told everyone that marsks are not effective. You don’t need a marsk. That was his advice. He went on to say wearing one might make people feel safer meaning it has a psychological effect. Here in Australia we were encouraged not to wear masks but to leave them for health care professionals.
It’s not that people are science deniers. They want the “actual” science. Not made up crap that fits a political or financial narrative.
