That is now, but there will be a move away from coal once technology is developed and the EV industry will already be fully developed.
The EV industry has already taken decades to start up and will another decade to mature. Doesn't make sense to wait now does it, clean energy will catchup at some point. Not much point in just standing still or else nothing will change.
