If Elon doesn't mention Novonix then it will mean that he has created a product that can reach up to 1.5million miles.
Seeing as CATL has already reached 1.5million miles, i would guess that his is somewhere on par with it.

Now IMO, Tesla is looking to beat out the rest of the competition. In order to do this, he would need to achieve something that can exceed 1.5 million miles. possibly 2 million?? and the only product on the market is Novonix.

Elon has said it previously, he's all about reaching vertical integration and incorporating this into his future cars/projects.
If you have something that can be help you get there sooner, why not take advantage of it?

Novonix alone might not be able to supply all the goods but what if the partnership was with them and another company??
