depends on how they do the acquisition but usually it's shares in the takeover company. so if NST decided to buy us out at let's say $1 per share and NST share price was $9 then we would get 1 NST share for every 9 NXM shares we held. if you had held your nxm for 6 months then you need to hold the new NST shares for another 6 months to sell them for the 50% cgt discount (total 12 months of holding the shares). that's the way I understand it.
