Yep, great idea.
Here is the zinger.
My guess $50 million a lab, plus staff.
The top staff have to be 'bang on' in Chemistry and very solid in Physics and Maths. The side requirements are IT in its various iterations.
It is not just determining what elements are present but the quantitative analysis has to be serious, ergo, how much is present. Otherwise the knuckle draggers, overseeing ASX reports will tear their finger nails out, while understanding zip.
Plus, the owners of the labs have to full on in all the business subjects, plus a little bit of law.
Then, those little labs have to be able to analyse not just gold, but the other 91 elements, minus a few gases and the odd irrelevant freak. Gets complex.
And as for those who have to be 'bang on', well this Wide Brown Land is as dumb as doggy do dah, Science in high school is avoided like the plague, just to get some uni' entrance score, to some irrelevant course, so you can come out and flip burgers, as some say, or try and be a 'social media influencer'.
Sad eh?
And just to be clear, I am far from 'bang on' in Chemistry, Physics, or Maths
