A common misconception is that gold decreases with and increase in rates. Just look at 1976-82 where we had a record increase in rates to combat inflation. Gold subsequently had an 800% run during this timeframe. I'm not convinced these tiny increases in rates will have any real effect on the gold price, especially since rate hikes could be signalling the end of this massive equities run which is usually good for PM's.
