Canadian Reserve bank actually shorted the price of gold? Any source on that one? It just sounds way out of their scope of operations for me. As on what basis would a reserve bank get involved in shorting a market?

I know that gold has cr&pped itself this week with a narrative around fear of the interest rate hikes to come.... but people have such short memories.... as what has brought us to this juncture in the first place? Over a decade of humongous international scale government fiscal stimulus..... and even the manipulated CPI measurement methods can't hide the resultant inflation anymore.... so a couple of rate hikes will not kill that (and we don't even know if the Fed's have the guts to follow through and actually raise them).

Their expansive policy has fed into new endeavors that some may question - would these markets exist without all that financial stimulus?

Take the crypto environment (totally mainstream now). I believe it was initially born from of a lack of trust in the value of money.... governments routinely just printed it out at will and with society a splash with way too much money in our pockets.... someone (who wasn't a gold bug raised the question - what is this paper worth? And then Bitcoin shows up.... the stimulus tap has kept flowing.... and now that Crypto environment has totally gorged itself on that free capital - with a new alt coin popping up everyday (probably even hourly!).... its got way out of hand.

Some may put the commercialisation of space in this same bucket.

But that time is quickly coming to an end.... and as mainstream wake up to the realisation that inflation is hurting their lifestyle (eg; why is this BigMac costing me $10?) things that just seemed cool (eg; Elon sending a car into space) will sound ridiculous... and by then I believe that PMs will have turned the corner and be back into ATH territory.

Some of us might have got on this train a bit early (from a broader PM sense, not really so for NXM) and it's hurting right now.... but the time to be set for this major economical shift has definitely come.... got your tickets?
