The buying to me looks more like someone has instructed their broker to buy a few million shares and due to lack of volume the broker is giving the market a chance to do it's thing organically, then when that fails just wiping a few lines per day.
Hopefully this is allowed to go on for a few more days before an announcement disrupts the fun.
