COPPER: Copper hit a record high overnight after new figures yesterday showed China's imports of refined copper increased around 37% last month, more than reversing a 30% fall in October. Also helping market sentiment was a force majeure in Chile, where an accident at a sea port has stopped supplies shipping. The latter is clearly a short-term problem, but upward momentum is strong with copper as warehouse stocks declined throughout the year.
