Mahanga, this situation has been unfolding for a while now, and it helps little that spineless politicians are more interested in their positions of power than looking after the interests of those that put them in a position to make a difference with sound policies. If you feel strongly about the foreshore and seabed issue I suggest you read some of the excellent research and opinion papers Dr Muriel Newman has put together on the subject.
