The addition of Devon Conway and Kyle Jamieson to this team has taken them from 'goodish' to a side who actually has some steel and cutting edge to them. That's what a couple of really gun players can do - elevate something reasonably middle of the road to something truly capable of bringing home the silverware. Best comparison in a New Zealand context would be the NZ side of the 80's with Hadlee and Crowe giving them a lethal edge.
Aussies will be saying "I'll believe it when I see it" after seeing past NZ sides be talked up & then not providing anything by way of a challenge. But India has been going ga-ga over Jamieson for a while now - and you only have to look at his IPL pay packet for evidence of how highly they rate him - and now England are tripping over themselves to praise both Jamieson and Conway. So the signs are good that this NZ side are now capable of living up to the billing of being a side capable of toppling the best teams.
