At the SRC meeting, The Red Zone report was handed out by the campus women's collective to attendees.
Councillor Ellie Robertson from the left-wing feminist action group was addressing growing incidences of hazing, bullying and sexual violence which she said was a result of the "elitist culture" at the colleges in a speech.
She can be heard saying "we have seen in the past week almost 10 per cent of students in St Paul's College have either been suspended or excluded … in a horrific incident of bullying", before the room erupted in response to the students tearing up the report.
Outgoing SRC president Harrison Brennan said the handouts were vandalised during the speech by the women's collective.
"As they were talking about the St Paul's issue ... [some students] decided to shout back during the speeches and tear up The Red Zone report they were given," he said.
"I think [it] was pretty deplorable behaviour ... it was profound and shocking that they were making a big spectacle of it."
It is believed that the three students are affiliated with the Liberal Party. The ABC has contacted Sydney University Liberal Club for comment.
AbC ilnk.
is this the sort of people we want becoming politicians in the future?
I'll just add that there are similar standards among unionists in the Labs.
