Some further info - WA Energy Minister Peter Collier stated that there was a cost blowout for this power line, a 134 per cent increase. A working group is now looking at ways to reduce cost. Quote "I want to re-assure the MIdwest that the Government will not abandon them on this. The deferral has been forced on us because of the cost blowout". A decision is expected on the power line no earlier than June. Western Power may zig zag the line which will further blow costs. The Premier will be looking at all options and I think positive outcomes will prevail.
