And a few more of the racial riots in France and England will really ensure that the socialists here get the boot.
Labor has lost touch with it's core values.
I just searched the official Labor Party web site, hoping to find some information outlining exactly what Labor stands for. You know, their core values and beliefs.
What did I find?
Certainly not Labors "core values".
What I did find was plenty of corporate type gloss, spin and rhetoric. plenty of photos of women and talk about green policy.
But, alas, nothing of substance. Nothing about fiercely defending the rights of workers etc. And that just about sums up the modern Australian Labor Party. My father would be most unhappy if he was still with us.
He was a staunch Labor man who believed in a fair days work for a fair days pay. He wouldn't cop all of this airy, fairy politics.
He would be saying,"Get your act together, or get out!!!" And he voted Labor all of his life.
So did my mother.....except for the last election where she could not bring herself to vote for Swan.
Trust me, if the time has come when my mother votes liberal, it is more than fair to say that "modern" Labor has lost touch with their traditional support base.
