Over the same time frame as the Gillard comparison, Costello had $90 billion extra receipts (49% increase) and over $60 billion extra payments (43% increase).

For the 2006 - 2012 comparison, Gillard had $105 billion extra receipts (38% increase) and $121 billion extra payments (48% increase).


Costello had the largest percentage increase in receipts (11% more than Gillard), and Gillard had the largest increase in payments (5% more than Costello).


I don't think comparing budgets six years apart can give you a reasonable comparison without a more in depth analysis.
