tcisboss the folks who say "this package is not going to fix anything" are dealing in absolutes, there is no black and white in life and certainly not in our current situation.
the current rally is the relief rally after the big Nov08 drops, aided by the new pres. i understand a rally pretty much always comes along with a new pres. after that, in a month or three, will be the realisation that this guy is not the messiah, that he can't part waves or fix economies with the snap of his fingers. then over the following say 6 months after that will be the realisation that for things to get better it will take time, that this guy is instilling confidence in many quarters, pessisimism will slowly turn to optimism.
i'm sure packages by the new administration will fix something, or partially fix something. it can't fix 'nothing'. america's infrastructure is very overdue for a fixup, unfortunately their bank balance aint too pretty, and given how central they are to the rest of the world their coming hyperinflation to pay for all this is gonna hit the rest of us pretty hard too.
it would be funny if obama's big spend led to ron paul taking the white house.
