Abstract of first part of article....

Astute observers of social modes would have noticed that there has been an outbreak of poor manners of late. And that's putting it politely. ... ...

Take a deep breath, pop a blood-pressure tablet and get some perspective on what constitutes civil behaviour.

Miss Manners is here to help.

    - If you are invited to post a comment on a website, remember you are a guest on someone else's property. Think of it as being invited into someone's house for a community meeting. Feel free to leave a comment, even a tough one, but don't attack your host personally, don't use violent language and don't issue threats you wouldn't make in front of a police officer. If you can't control yourself in public domains, set up your own website. Call it something like, lunaticwithnolifeandlessbrains.com

    -------------------------

I suspect the comment 'don't attack your host personally' is the relevant one (tho the others are variously relevant to other posters/posts).

In a forum you are anonymous - so any comment that can be interpreted pejoratively be it race, gender creed, whatever, is by definition off limits because you are UNABLE to prove your intent/context is socially appropriate.
