The Security Council vote on Israeli's illegal settlements was 14-0 by the way, with US abstaining. The Conservative governments of the UK and New Zealand voted for it, and John Key's government sponsored the draft of it. The Australian's Greg Sheridan conveniently forgot to mention that - Obama is apparently terrible for abstaining, but Sheridan refuses to condemn two governments he admires for voting for it. (UK could have vetoed it too, as a permanent member of the Security Council. Once again, no mention of that.)

You can strongly support Israel but condemn the aggressive expansion of the settlements and the way they are designed to break up the contiguity of Palestinian land and prevent a two-state solution - many Israelis do.
