Great example of just because you're aware of a cognitive fallacy doesn't mean you wont commit them yourself.
You want to try and eliminate your own confirmation bias try looking for disconfirming evidence or contrary opinions. Just like Flaming Joe I have no body on ignore. Sometimes even an idiot can show great insight.
While on the topic of bias one of the things SS said in his spiel was something along the lines of , we see significant potential but the fact remains if others don't see it it doesn't get commercialised.
A father will always love his daughter and she will always be beautiful in his eyes even if she is not in the mind of potential suitors.
