You're misinterpreting my point. My point is simply that it is widely understood which jobs are at risk... A nurse would have a different outlook on their employment than a tour operator in Dreamworld.
In a higher-risk industry the average person's spending habits would change. They wouldn't be loading up on 3 pairs of Nike sneakers through Afterpay (acknowledging there may be some idiots that might do just that). Unemployment being a lagging macroeconomic indicator has little to do with consumer behavior, with consumers adjusting in real time.
