Indeed one could suggest that today's price drop was due to "fear reinforced through negligent media reporting" as you put it however IME the market seldom gets it wrong.
Judging by the number of HC "thumbs up" your post received many would like to believe in the suggestion that the selloff witnessed today was due to fear induced by the media, however the reality of it is somewhat different and I believe most know it!
