Some good points. From a strategic perspective offering there could be benefits realised from offering tap&zip and chrome. For starters it would greatly speed up the onboarding of customers. Instead of directly challenging Afterpay in stores, Z1P is effectively scooping up all the customers that want to shop in stores that don't yet offer BNPL and these customers could add value in many other ways as noted in the Other revenue streams section.

Regarding merchants, in an ideal world merchants would want a world where they get the benefit from BNPL (increased basket sizes and conversion rates) without paying extra but that's not realistic. BNPL companies create millions of lead referrals to merchants through the apps, so if you're a retailer not partnering with BNPL but your competitor is then you lose out. This is essentially forcing merchants to adopt BNPL, but don't feel too bad for them. Paying 4-7% for lead referrals, higher conversion rates and basket sizes with ZERO marketing expenses it becomes much less of a burden. In fact, if you reduce the 4-7% any marketing costs as well as any costs associated from traditional channels (e.g. 1.5%) then the 4-7% is really closer to maybe 2-5% but for a lot of benefit.
