LOTM just to clarify one aspect of this post, ASX/ASIC do not read financial statements (generally) unless reported. Often these things are retracted if there is errors reported and found to be true.
It is similar with the process for JORC resources or Incorrect quotes, the ASX/ASIC are mostly reactionary bodies, not proactive bodies, and thus they would not have read or signed off those.
Only a companies accountant and/or a third party independent accountant actually signs off and reviews the announced financials. If you feel there is an error it is up to you to report it to ASIC/ASX and get it retracted (if you're correct).
