OCC Broker Data

I've done some research with broker data on OCC recently and wanted to share my view so everyone can better understand the mood of professional and retail investors.

Let’s start with this beautiful chart that clearly demonstrates the trend. Personally, I prefer this chart view over raw table data, as it provides a much better perspective.

Here, as an overlay on the price, we can see the distribution or accumulation of shares by different brokers servicing various categories of investors.
The picture is pretty clear: the top three buyers are CommSec, CMS Market, and AIEX clients - all retail brokers.
On the sell side, we see Bridges, Argonaut, and Euroz Hartleys - all serving professional or wealthy investors.

The trend is pretty clear at the moment: professional investors are gradually taking profits, while retail investors are stepping in at this level as the price rises.



Here’s a closer look at the sell side over the last two months: Bridges is the biggest seller, with a sell volume of almost 6 million shares.


It’s hard to say for sure who uses Bridges as their broker, but it’s likely some of the top holders. Interestingly, the sell volume almost matches the holdings of Mr. Qixiao Zhou.






Another interesting chart is this one showing Canaccord’s accumulation. They were the managers of the latest capital raise in September. It seems they’ve taken some profits but haven’t sold much compared to the volume of the capital raise.
