It was the wrong forum to disclose such information piecemeal where you cannot control the details, IMO. Hopefuly we will get elucidation on it in the full year results or other formal formal disclosure. I certainly made the point to JDW, that such sensitive information should surely be revealed via formal ASX disclosures (regards JDW's improved governance/disclosure/investor alignment push) where the cash management and business strategy communication is comprehensively controlled, dispelling need for conjecture by the capital markets.
I don't like CEO's casually revealing hitherto unspecifically expressed strategies to investors in these poorly covered, little 'fireside' interviews and think it a poor choice of a medium for Paul to reveal the information as he cannot control the full scope and many investors may miss - why I posted originally when I found it despite knowing the likely price effect. He might think he teased the market with 'investment opportunities', but in absence of information, investors will be more concerned about a capital raise, than likely partnerships from bigger US players (that they are clearly shopping to) in the vacuum of specific information. Certainly Alan put the cat amongst the pigeons with his abstract intro'. Paul actually refuted the likely need for a raise when asked, given his revelation, but did not do so comprehensively and clearly.
The Board and CEO's really need to reveal such information in better strategy outlines in formal disclosures to ALL investors. If there are potential partnership candidates and indeed "future distribution agreements" as you say (that could only feasibly occur from a decent partnership with a large up front cash component) then allude to them in more formal strategy disclosure avenues, even if you can't specifically yet in form.
Long winded disclosure whinge from myself - likely forthcoming partnership the context for Paul's poorly contextualised comments in short. IMO.
OCC is indeed hopefully at an "inflexion" point. Sadly many retail investors will have understandably got fed up waiting for it, a decade after IPO.
