At this time it is difficult to provide any accurate occupancy percentages, as there appears to be discrepancies between what the government website is reporting and the actual attendance at centres. Enquiries with various centres on their enrolment availability over the past few days, confirmed that this is the case. This inaccuracy in reporting, maybe a result of the government currently running both systems in preparation for 2 July.
G8 are currently offering parents a sliding fee scale; the more days you attend the less you pay per day. The difference between the fees they are charging and those of their competitors, in some cases is considerable. Research on availability and fee charges shows the largest difference between a G8 centre and its competitor to be $42 per day. It's never good to improve occupancy by being the cheapest, the aim should be to improve occupancy by being the best provider of early childhood education and care. Being the cheapest rarely sees occupancy levels hold over time.
A more accurate report on occupancy should be available after 2 July.
