IOC strike continues but not affecting CIA at present.

After recent discussion on Canada's Stockhouse forum, consensus appears to be that the IOC strike will not affect CIA's shipments on the QNS&L during May, possibly in June or perhaps not at all if the strike ends in coming weeks?

Latest ship schedule has nothing for CIA after Lydia Oldendorff (currently moored at Pointe-Noire).

Not so good news is that Iron Ore Ocean freight rates are higher than the rates used on last years BFS which was US$12/t Brazil to China & US$19/t Sept-Iles to China

Brazil to China is now US$18/t based on a 170,000t shipment which puts Sept-Iles to China at up to US$25/t

CIA will need to get freight costs down - the possible good news could be that the reason why there are no expected arrivals on the schedule is that the shipping agent is trying to book bigger ships in an effort to bring down costs?

Vale dominates the 400,000t carriers but there could be some 325,000t ships available for order.
