Mate, no, I am not loosing it, thank you. You still don't understand. Oceans are warming due to climate change. That is a long term trend. That's what this thread is about; persistent warming of the oceans with increased retained planetary heat due to global warming.
Re the issue you are having trouble grasping and reintroduce here again: There is a shorter term oscillation in the transfer of heat between the ocean and atmosphere due to the El Nino/Southern oscillation. Exactly what causes the oscillation is unclear, ocean current and it's interaction with atmospheric pressure systems are a complex interacting system. But they are a well observed phenomena. During El Nino the outcome is unusually warm equatorial pacific ocean surface temperatures (as well as having impacts on weather patterns). That warmer ocean surface results in warmer atmospheric temperatures over the period of the El Nino. A bit like sitting next to a hot water bottle. La Nina periods are rather the opposite, you get to sit next to a cold water bottle. The previous years that have set record global surface temperatures have all had El Ninos. So they had that ocean hot water bottle boost. 2014 made the new record surface temperature without that El Nino hot water bottle. It is very significant that 2014 made the record global temperature without that extra hot water bottle boost.
That's the last time I am going to attempt to explain that to you. If you don't get it this time you are going to have to go down as a Dunning Krugger problem child. Either that or a persistant and deliberate obfuscator.
