    Sue you know the differences.
    For everyone else ...
    - GDN were drilling for around 400BCF gas in the US.
    - The drilling went well, found some reasonably significant intersections which the company announced and perhaps overstated in hindsight.
    - They then got themselves into trouble with the sealing and closing up of the drill, with some structural failures in the casing ... this took months to sort out.
    - It came to light also during and just after this time that pressures and quality of gas was borderline marketable, and not the big hit first thought that drove the stock above $1.20.

CVI at this stage has the potential to get oil blocks in a very prospective area of the world. Awarding of 2 blocks is iminent.
    - CVI have rights to 1 block in Cameroon - Nrth Matanda which has proven reserves from previous drilling - CVI stake Proven 24mbbl.
    - CVI are about to start a drilling campaign at Longonjo metals, where samples of adits has uncovered large Cu/Au samples over large distances (0.8% Cu over 80m+ as an example). Potentially higher grades will be uncovered in the drilling, there seems to be a lot of gold in the area and photos show considerable Cu oxidation.
    - Potential for gaining further Cameroon leases in Niger Delta/Bakassi etc. Big potential there.

So CVI & GDN are very different. GDN had 1 prospect, there was risk there, invstors thought drill results were reducing risk of not marketable, so they bought in, and from the announcements from the company, you would think so too. Then it struck problems the truth came out about the size of the gas deposit and it got cained.

CVI will also go through these periods of drilling, so may react in a similar way when drilling starts on the prospects. CVI however has many more prospects, rights to proven reserves, diversification with metals, and access to a very highly prospective area, one of the worlds last "low hanging fruit" areas remaining relatively untapped.
CVIs potential is enormous. Management needs to handle this well or you will get the massive sp swings that we saw with GDN. Regular comms with the market is key and so far MS is doing that well. GDN failed this in my view.

I hold CVI as I have for the last year. They have massive potential, the risk is there, but looking into the likelihood of successfuly gaining access to Angolan leases and local business influence and potential upside if they gain prospects, CVI is well worth a go.
Basically we put trust in management that we are getting a clear picture. so far with CVI i am happy.

    Cheers

    Bilbo
