I note an interesting side event this morning in relation to Octa Phillip Asset Management. Octa Phillip Asset Management is a bioscience investment fund run by Bioscience Managers, of which Mr Curnock Cook is the managing director. Mr Curnock Cook also sits on the board of PYC.
The interesting part of all this is that Octa have just declared they have taken an 8.66% interest in another bio minnow called Avita (AVH). Now AVH and PYC are well known to each other as they were largely born out of the same group of people, so the connection is no surprise, but what I do consider somewhat of an 'unpleasant' surprise is that a current board member, who supposedly understands the potential of PYC, will get his fund to invest into another bio company (admittedly with a lot of potential) but does not put his money into PYC.
His seemingly active bio investment fund appears to fail to see the value in PYC, even though he's on the board. Hmmm....
