About the court case.
There was a story in the paper I think about a week ago. The essence of the story was that Chris Scott appeared. It was argued that he could not be guilty with the offence as charged, because he did not himself give the material to Fair Trading. It was given to somebody on his behalf (I think).
I believe the Magistrate agreed with this. As a result the prosecution asked for the charge to be varied. From memory this involved changing one word in the charge. It was argued by CS that this should not be allowed. One of the grounds is that the charge would now be out of time.
I believe it ended up with the Magistrate adjouring to decide whether he/she would allow the charge to be varied.
Well thats what I can remember from the story in the bulletin
