It seems like most people on this forum is short and I would bet a lot of instos and hedge funds have hedges in place. In reality the only people who can't short are retail investors. Everyone else has a valid loophole such as "hedging", "international arbitrage", "market making", "options arbitrage" etc.
Short ban is just a typical ASX ploy to screw the retail investor at the expense of the institutions. By the time they rescind it the market will have turned.
