I agree that Private Clients have a much better chance of getting set as against Instos who wait for the broker research and then pass it through various bodies to get approval. The brokers are not the first cab off the rank either. I well remember the first day of trading in Excel Coal. I had coal mining clients wanting to buy the stock. I got them set at $1.98 and then followed them in by suggesting to clients that they buy the stock. I had the biggest day ever of my 50+ years career. I pleaded with management to cover the stock with research which they eventually did at about $7! It was taken oven but I forget the price.
