Uses a fixed needle with no needle retraction = win for me.
I have often questioned the retractable needle aspect of the ocu-ject as speaking to some retinal specialists they seemed to suggest a fixed needle would be desirable.
The fact that the platform is modular meant it wasn't really a concern as we could give them whatever they needed.
So with no passive safety its a matter of accuracy and metering of dose. The metering control of what appeared to be a screwed arrangement in the flange where the plunger went through appears to have been deleted too.
So I don't know what to make of this device, especially since they also speak to how it can be hooked up to bags etc...all I can make of it is that it appears to be a cheaper variant so hopefully can be pushed out the door easier
