Agree Mark with your sentiments. Quite some time ago I had very short-term cashflow issues (to do with stock).

I decided to cash in some CSD but because it is illiquid I had to crunch the sp as I was dumping into the bids. I bought them back and now hold a greater number.

As an aside, not long after this I tried to buy back in but had to take whatever was on offer. There was a massive gap between the buys and sells. My attempt to buy the shares was declined and I got a call from the broker telling me not to do it again. I asked what was I doing? I was told I was manipulating the sp upwards!!!!!

So there you have it - ok for the big boys to manipulate to their hearts content but kick the mums and dads to kingdom come for just trying to buy shares!!

To conclude - it is quite possible that there is someone needing cash!
