On 1 Dec 05 BTA sp was $1.71 with the highly talented Peter Cook appointment announced on 2 December. BTA closed at 31 cents on Friday 5 December. The 82% drop mirrored Peter’s performance as CEO of Orbital Engine where the sp dropped from around 70 cents to 10 cents.

In case spruikers blame the drop on the general market, the All Ord dropped only 25% from 4573 on 1 Dec 05 to 3427.

Why did Peter Cook not announce the Japanese Relenza order? Especially when the Broker reports posted by Peter on Biota website anticipated the Japanese order and predicted Biota will have “neutral cash” 08/09 FY predicated on $20m to $30m relenza royalties. Read the “relenza for Japan (update) thread” here for the truth! From the limited information available, it appeared possible that the bulk of the Japanese order will only be filled after the 08/09FY. If the order is filled after 08/09, the already disappointing order is even worst than discussed here on HC.

Despite the clear message from shareholders at the AGM and the message from the market reflected in the falling sp, Peter Cook expanded the board and increased executive remunerations. Biota shareholders should be thrilled to see Peter Cook’s performance, He is God’s gift to BTA shareholders. The pedigree filled Biota board is going to bring home zillions to shareholders. This is the next CSL or COH just as what OEC could have been. Well done Peter, shareholders adore you.
