we buy gold because of it's increasing value in dollar...

we buy gold because of it's increasing value in dollar terms...we have gold so we have more money...maybe that's too simplistic but I think at the end of the day that's basically why we desire gold not for it's "intrinsic value"...shares translate to dollars and give even better leverage by new discoveries...that's assuming that paper gold may be somewhat immune to a fall in the market...
