I hope that you are not suggesting that we have an enlightened tax system in Australia?
Rather than point the finger at the conservative governments I would suggest that we look at both sides as being equally bad with their tax systems.
Taxes in Australia have a heavy dis-incentive built in and are slowly but surely sending all our worthwhile jobs overseas, most of our manufacturing jobs have gone leaving the service industry which is now also partially sent to India etc. Unless we manufacture and make things we are doomed, we do not even value add much of our mineral exports.
Just think of Canberra as another country which has complete control of us but has no interest in the long term future of the country, 95% of the politicians and bureaucrats listen to other masters
The 1% rule is sure to be alive and well in Australia if someone bothers to do the figures also many of the USA 1% is in control of Canberra.
