    Defplayer,

Are you also aware that teachers on the North coast are showing Gaslands as part of their brain washing process. It is presented to students within the science curriculum.Does it make acceptable science because it is taught in schools?

I really think your opinions are off the mark regarding farmers protesting. Most bonafide farmers are too busy to get involved and are fairly conservative. They don't feel comfortable with men who wear tea cosies on their heads.
As far as getting paid the only ones I know of are unemployed protestors from Qld who were brought down for the Shannonbrook love-in.

Not sure what you mean about protecting their livestyles.I think most true farmers are business people who are concerned with spiraling costs with in the meat processing and dairy industries and look to the Casino development as a means to address those issues.

Now to address xenophobia. That really is something out of left field. My interpretation is that you think farmers are scared of people from other countries. And this relevent to CSG in what way?

Finally your arguement that CSG should be allowed to proceed purely because its footprint is less than that of agriculture is hardly going to get people on board.
As I have mentioned before I am a staunch supporter of CSG and MEL in particular.I have provided the areas where I see MEL can improve their relationship with landholders.

As someone who has worked as a agricultural extension officer prior to farming fulltime I can see that a much stronger relationship can be forged between the interested parties. The majority of LTG do not own any properties where MEL would be likely to want wells. Developing a partnership between the local innovators and MEL would allow for field days and other activities to be held without the need for MEL to have demonstration properties as suggested by Highwayman. Entering steers in the local shows and North Coast National for example would be good PR.
A nice heavyweight Limo steer with a name like "GAS Giant"
would attract a lot of attention.

    To King,

The ridiculous backlash you describe is not from most fair dinkum farmers. As I have mentioned before LTG is overrun with the green lobby who do not own commercial farms. They are very effective at what they do at present. That is why it is very important to get a good relationship going with the landholders who really matter.
As an example the Northern Star published today has a letter from Nan Nicholson of the Terania Creek Blockade fame.A long history of environmental activism on the North Coast and plenty of experience in mounting campaigns. As well there is the regular comments from old mate Bill of Teven. How many letters in support of CSG? None.
Have you bothered to write to your papers?Do you ring the local newspaper when the present biased reporting?Do you harass people at cattle sales and BBQs promoting the benefits of CSG?

I think it's about time you stopped using farmers as a means to vent frustration. They are the least of your problems.
