When mining tailings or waste ore dumps your mining costs are significantly reduced as there is no drill and blasting. All you need is excavator/shovel, trucks and thats about it. A few years ago at the Kalgoorlie Superpit all the old slime dumps were remined using this method for a few million dollars of easy cash.
