My advice is to hang on till we have news.
Regarding your tax return, give them a call in May and explain the situation you're in. You will be surprised to learn they will accomodate you in your current predicament and hold off till a later date. And please don't panic it's bad for your health and wellbeing and your're more likely to make irrational decisions when you're in that state.
