Dont get confused with 'off screen' trades and 'off market' trades
as you can see in this image there were trades that took place after 4.10pm, these would be referred to as 'off market' and they are not reflected in the closing price for the day. Reported closing price was 40.55, yet the very last trade for the day was 'off market' for 38.60.
It is possible that an 'off screen' trade could be the last price of the day, as long as it occurred before the closing bell.
