Haven't Tesla said that their preference is to use US produced graphite?
Given that China produces more than 75% of the worlds graphite, then statistically speaking there is a 75% chance that any MOU would be with a Chinese company. Which means that again, statistically speaking, there is a less than 25% chance that it will be anyone else.
So we are looking at a $1.25 favourite vs a $4 outsider.
Current Australian graphite offtakes
SYR - 80,000 to 100,000 tonne/year with Chinalco (China)
KNL - 10,000 tonne/year a major European Graphite Trader (whatever that is) for 5 years + option for a further 5 years.
LMB - 50,000 tonne/year with Hengda (who ended up merging so not sure how that works now that the buyer owns half the company)
UNX - ???? tonne/year with ????
Anyway you cut it, UNX is way under valued compared to the above players. Either that or the others are way over valued.
